Council of Neobiota
is a portable board game created by multidisciplinary artists Eloïse Bonneviot and Anne de Boer. The game is inspired by the report generated in 2021 by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It is played from the perspective of an invasive species and players work together to explore how, even while being outsiders to a particular place, they can still defend themselves against the destructive power of capitalism, destabilize it, and, in the best case scenario, overcome it.

The project began in its research phase in 2022 when Cordova was housed within FOC, in its previous location in La Marina de Port on the south western side of Montjuïc, a mountain that separates the city center of Barcelona from the more industrial Zona Franca and the adjacent commercial port that juts out into the Mediterranean. The artists are interested in the plurality of Montjuïc and the dynamics of conviviality and contrast that are at play: between the industrial and the natural; the historical and contemporary; the hyper local and globalized. The gameplay elements have a specific connection to the micro-ecosystem of the mountain, a site that bridges and also isolates distinct temporal, social and environmental worlds.
